Cecelia Rabil, M.S., OTR/L

Cecelia received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a second degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She continued her education at East Carolina University where she received a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. Cecelia pursued occupational therapy as a profession after volunteering at a constraint-induced movement therapy (CIMT) camp for children with hemiplegia, which ignited her passion for helping children engage in the activities most important to them. While in graduate school, Cecelia volunteered with a basketball league for children with autism and participated in pediatric research, implementing the Keyboarding Without Tears curriculum in a community-based setting and presenting the results at the 2019 American Occupational Therapy Association Conference. She also helped establish a constraint-induced movement therapy summer program at East Carolina University. Cecelia completed clinical rotations across outpatient pediatric, outpatient adult, acute care, and inpatient pediatric settings. She has experience working with a wide array of conditions including autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorder, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, congenital heart defects, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, leukemia, and developmental delays. In her free time, Cecelia enjoys spending time with friends and family, visiting local coffee shops, going to the beach, and cheering on the Tar Heels.
