Lisa Mesecar, OTR/L
Lisa received both her B.S. and M.A. in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California. For over 14 years, Lisa has provided occupational therapy services to children with a variety of developmental challenges including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Genetic disorders, learning disabilities, Attention disorders, Coordination disorders, and Sensory Processing Disorders. She has specialized training in Sensory Integration in addition to being SIPT certified, and is certified in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT). Lisa has worked under and along side internationally known experts in both of these areas of practice.
Lisa has spent the majority of her career in multidisciplinary outpatient therapy clinics, in addition to providing therapy in school, home and hospital settings. She places a strong emphasis on family and child centered therapy with a focus on a child’s intrinsic motivation during treatment sessions.
In addition to her clinical experience, Lisa has also provided lectures and continuing education courses on the topic of Sensory Integration and Sensory Processing Disorders for therapists as well as parent groups, physicians and educators.
Lisa relocated to North Raleigh in 2011 where she currently resides with her husband and two sons.
