A few words from former CCMT director…

Sniff sniff . . .

Some of you may know that my husband and I were planning to move to Singapore starting 2010. We were excited for this new adventure and began planning our transition, which included selling our house, finding new owners for CCMT, and learning lots of Mandarin.

Well, plans change. The Singapore opportunity fell through at the last minute, we had already sold our house, and were both left wondering what was going on with our careers. We are currently renting a house in Durham while Harold works temporarily at the VA and I am pregnant! The only thing we are sure of in 2010 is the birth of little baby Hong (due in July). In the meantime, we are making ourselves as mobile as possible. CCMT still needed to exist in bringing services to children and adults, and I wanted to find new owners that were suitable for the task.

T.R. Goins and Jennifer Mock are two physical therapists in Wake County that started their own practice not too long ago. We have had a number of clients in common and kept hearing about each other’s work. Their unique programs such as soccer league, cool kidz club, and Yogabilities really appealed to us. Most of all, it seemed that they really cared about the clients and their well-being. They were enthusiastic about the joining of the two companies and we signed off on the papers on January 25, 2010.

As we make this transition to Abilitations Children’s Therapy and Wellness Center, LLC, we are making sure that each of our clients know that they will receive the same quality of music therapy services. I have no doubt that this is the best direction for our two companies.

If you don’t know T.R. and Jen, they are extremely hard-working individuals whose life missions are to serve those with exceptional needs. And our new music therapist, Sarah Klein, comes with excellent training from one of the top schools in the world and is one of the best musicians I have come across.  Chrissy Watson, our very first music therapist, continues to do amazing work. Until our move comes, I will be aiding with the transition and offering supervision and consultation.

I will miss all of you, both past and present, very dearly. Please keep in touch!

Sincerely,

Angie.
