Alicia Strein, M.S., CCC-SLP
Alicia graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Early Childhood Education in May 2009. She continued her education at East Carolina University where she received a Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in May 2011. She has worked with both children and adults in a variety of settings including private practice, schools, and rehabilitative facilities. Alicia has experience in the evaluation and treatment of children with a variety of diagnoses including: specific language impairments, articulation/phonological disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, receptive/expressive language disorders, autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, developmental delays, ADD/ADHD, and learning disabilities. Alicia has an interest incorporating her undergraduate and graduate school work to improve the literacy skills of children and has been trained in the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). Alicia believes in a dynamic approach to treatment which involves the child, family, therapist, and teachers in order to provide an in depth and successful approach to therapy and communicative success of the child.
In her spare time, Alicia enjoys spending time with her family and friends, baking, reading, and going to the beach and lake.
